Swansea-based AB GLASS has secured a £1.5m contract to work on a £39m high-rise student accommodation block at the city’s Mariner Street.

The company, working with contractor ISG for Fusion Student, will fabricate and install Kawneer AA720e windows along with AA720 and AA190 swing doors in the new building. Due to various acoustic requirements on the build, it is also supplying acoustic glass and trickle vents. Reaching 17 stories and 58 metres tall, the building will house 780 students and be the second tallest in the city.

Alan Brayley, managing director at AB Glass, said: “We are aware of the increase in demand for student accommodation in Swansea for its two main universities and we think the new Fusion Student build will help mitigate this demand.”
